Sort of on Track

It's been awhile since my last entry, not entirely alot has happened since my last post.

Finally catching up on some anime, I know this is kind of old now but finally get to watch some Naruto and as for what I've seen when it comes to the yaoi side of things, it's complete bullshit and I stand by what I just said. Classic scene that the fangirls always say that was really gay is when Naruto and Sasuke where having a stare off and some guy pushed Naruto into Sasuke's face which turned into a boy on boy kiss. Now some fangirl I know say that Naruto was not pushed into Sasuke when you have the evidence right in front of your eyes. Now I think she takes the the whole yaoi thing way too far these days like it's her religion, cause once you have proven a point many times, she is the type that never admits she's wrong. The day I believe in the whole yaoi thing is the day I actually see boy on boy action (And I don't mean real life yaoi, I mean in TV shows like Naruto, Bleach, Death Note ect).
Anyways another anime I've been watching is Gurren Lagen which I'm thinking is going to be the next big thing in anime, pretty much about giant robots.

My band had finally started it's recording sessions last Saturday. We're only making a 5 track EP I guess, but the problem is me and Josh (The Vocalist), were fighting over two songs, which we were pretty much fighting over which one out of these two songs should go on the CD. The song I want is a fast paced song which is pretty much 100% constructed were the song that Josh wanted was the song he wrote, which was originally a acoustic song, but added the band to the song. Josh won the song which put me in a pissed off mood for a little bit. I think 3/5 of the band were improvising the recording for that. That song is called "Who do You Think You Are?" you can catch it on our myspace pretty much. The reason I thought he wanted that song because it's his song and he's being the typical singer were he thinks he's the band, typical cockheads.
As for the song I wanted to record, I'm willing to spend extra money just to record that song because I think it is a must have song for the CD.
I hate the fact that because I'm the time keeper for the recording, I don't get second chances with recording. Everybody else in the band can be individually recorded and can be dubbed over so they can perfect each song. As for me, I only screwed up a couple of times in the recording, it's not noticeable, but I play the wrong fills in some parts.

I finally got some part-time work happening, it will do until I find a decent full-time job. I work at a car auction place, it's a shit job, shit pay, pretty much washing cars about 10 hours a day then gotta drive the cars so they can be auctioned. I'm like washing 200 cars a day, it's pretty exhausting, not as exhausting as making pools, but still gay.

I see Gaffy alot these days, like once a week (thats heaps more compared to my other friends from school). Were trying to visit our friend Jasmine and when were with her who knows whats going to happen. I gotta update my console, 360, PS3, whatever they both have Metal Gear 3, which is my all time favourite game ever which even beats Final Fantasy. I mite have to go with the PS3 cause there's more upcoming games I want to play like Tekken 6 I think there up to now, Final Fantasy 13 (I would use the Roman numerals but I'm not entirely sure if I would get 13 right, is it XIII) and Resident Evil 5. But need a giant plasma TV going on as well.
There's actually a couple of bands i mite be joining if the future if Red Thursday doesn't go well (God I hate that name). If that's the case, need to start saving up for new equipment, hopefully start a band were I play the Guitar, too many times were I'm in the rhythm section.

I'm gonna try and find some photos from recording, but this is just me at the SAE studio.

Look at me hard at work and got a beard, got a bit lazy with shaving at that point.

My doings

Well over the past couple of months I am still on the job hunt, done a couple of job interviews and still waiting to hear back from half of them. Recently applied for a extra in movies, adds, ect. They replied the next day, now I must have my own website to advertise myself so I can apply for jobs that catch my interest. I had my photo shoot yesterday. I must say if I was to be a model things wouldn't have worked out.
I recently found out when it comes to my upper lip, one side of my lip is lazier then the other, meaning my lip is like a sea-sore, meaning I can't smile (well I can, it's not perfect which explains why past photos look horrible).

My band is now down to 4 members. Started from 7, two of our female singers left due to acting and movie producing. We lost our bass player who was one of the key song writers due to his other bands (they're offering something that we can't, a tour). Now after I'm done with our recording I'm most likely out and going back whatever it was I was doing before I joined the band.

......nothing?

This is going to be quick because there's purely nothing going on these days. That's why there's been no entries lately, it's pure boredom.  But here's a pick I found because I thought it was kind of funny.....not really.  Sorry, I can't hear you because your shirt is too loud.

My Computer is CRAP!!!

I don't know whats wrong with my computer, I'm guessing it's the monitor because my computer seems to work on every other monitor.

Well having no job is completely shit, I'm trying to still save up on a car and also trying to save up for a trip in America by July next year because my uncle lives there and is getting married. But this trip is like a once in lifetime chance trip for someone like me. I would most likely want to explore New York just for the city life and to shop.
Well if all goes to plan i may be working in another crappy factory job again in Logan Village.

Life outside my band is been pretty crap, I've almost lost touch with everybody now and I'm so desperately trying to catch up with everybody. Seems like everybody has girlfriends and boyfriends these days and tend to lose contact with their friends which I fucking hate, it happens way to often now. People moving to different states to apparently, which is ok I guess (wish they would tell you before leaving). I must be pissed off maybe because I'm almost at the point that I'm lonely.

Shitty, Shit, Shit ta Shit ta Shitta!

Well this week was one hell of a week, not a lot happened, just me on the job search yet again, again.......? again.

There were two gigs on last weekend and they were a big failure. My manager does theatre shows, dinner shows every so often during the year, but this one was a failure in the first half of the show. We had the shittiest sound guy who talks himself up non-stop. He fucked us all over by not knowing how to play a simple CD player even though we showed him again and again and again. The band was all miked up and his order was to turn us on when we're about to take the stage, but because this guy has no common sense it was like you were just listening to me *which is ok.*
My manager is a true professional after everything goes to shit she tries to cover up the mistakes like nothing ever happened, unlike me I probably would've bailed by now from cracking under pressure.
After the first half was over, Mark our guitarist ran over to the sound booth and gave the sound guy a piece of his mind and took over from there and then everything ran smoothly again (By the way, Mark is a true sounds guy).

Yesterday we rehearsed quite early for the gig that was on that night. We were originally going to be playing at 7:20 but the people who organised the show obviously don't know how to run a show because we ended up playing around 9:30, the show was suppose to finish at 8:30. We were suppose to be the headlining band that night, but they cut our set short and almost everybody had gone home. After everybody packed up the shit hit the fan and everybody was arguing except I tend to be a observer. I don't know how it started or how it ended but lets hope we do ok at the next gig.

Now I must look for a job. BYES!!!

Lost Job, New Job and Birthday

Usually my entries come in on Sunday but some technical difficulties with the computer.

Tuesday last week was my final day at work so I went on the job search once again and I ended up being a laborer, making pools. In my mind I thought "making pools it couldn't be that hard." My first day yesterday I was nakerd, I've never felt so much pain in my whole entire body. Started at 4:30 in the morning till 7 at night, so much bending down, so much bending metal, so much heavy lifting and so much hours which also interferes with other priorities outside of work, so I had to let it down.

Last weekend was my 20th birthday which involved rehearsals for upcoming shows and tonnes of sleep. But my singers family were nice enough to buy me drinks and cook me some dinner, which was one of the best dinners I've ever had. Something about the people in Logan Village know how to make any food just perfect. But the thing that is always in the back of my mind is some of the peoples Birthdays I've ruined due from getting sick from drinking, seizures and drunk fights and I hate myself for doing and keep thinking I don't deserve Birthdays, so at the moment I really don't think I deserve anything in-particularly good right now.
Also I noticed that this is the third year in a row that my parents weren't at my B'day, it must be that time of the year to go off on holidays.

Yesterday I ran into a girl I use to know from school named Chantelle, god shes a dork ..... a cool dork, she works at Video Easy, PERFECT!!! Now I have to joints to go to were I have discounts. She's doing OK for herself yet everybody from my school say the same thing, Uni is boring and most people left and yet I still want to go, I keep thinking it'll be interesting, new and exciting, it doesn't seem like such a dream no more, but I'm still curious enough to go hoping that Uni is the shit. Anyways working at the video shop seems like the most coolest job to do on weeknights, talking shit all night, listening to whatever music and eating the ice-cream, chips, drinks and candy they sell. I would also add the PSP to one of the options to my working schedules, almost all the staff are game freaks. We would get along quite fine.

.....?

Friday at work was hell, we had to find somebody to take care of the office work since everybody is leaving. The guy who I guess we hired for the day I guess was named David James and he is on the dull obviously because the first thing he does in 10 minutes is seeing if he could borrow money, then hitting people up for cigarettes, asking the guys to shout him alcohol. His customer skills on the phone are horrible because he swears on the phone saying "HOLY FUCKING SHIT" to our biggest customer, and we didn't feel safe knowing that he could steal the petty cash.
On that same note my wallet went missing on that same day so it's been a shitty weekend for me so I point my finger to that David James bum.
So I got really drunk because I had nothing better to do since everything I do revolves around my wallet, so I grabbed whatever I could from the fridge which was pretty much my leftover drinks, listening to tunes really loud and eating nacho cheese corn chips *It tasted so good.*
After the office workers are gone, they want me to stay because they're desperate for more employees but I don't want to take charge of the office work, too much stress involved. I can't stay there much longer, but the company is in need for more employees and they can't afford to lose me, so this is a good time for a pay-rise.

More news on the band, We've had newspaper and radio interviews since the Battle of the Bands, I didn't attend to any of them, they were handled by DJ and Brendon. I don't know which radio station got to interview us but they want our CD when it is finished which is good news, the band is finally heading the direction I want to go, no more of these theatre shows, rent a band gigs, no more of these cover band gigs. It's almost time to play gigs that are representing ourselves. I think our plans in near future are making a 8 track EP in a month and a half's time, then after that writing an albums worth of better material to finally establish the bands first step of becoming a real band where as the songs that are going on the EP were just songs that we did at random times.
We already have bands wanting us to be the support acts, which was Sunday Slaves and One Year Later, they both seem to get decent gigs for themselves and so were up for supporting them but without sounding cocky they should be supporting us.

I seem to sort of talk nothing but work and the band every Sunday when I'm making a entry. I really ain't got much of a life, well I guess I'm working my way to fame hopefully, I doubt it'll happen.

Success!

More news on Battle of the Bands. All it is that we won the Battle of the Bands, I didn't think it was ever possible, now we get to record a CD. I felt like I got shot when they called out our name as the winners because I had a massive chest pain from adrenaline.
Our plans in the future so far is that some of our gigs have been recorded and were planning on making a prologue DVD which is sort of interesting for my liking, I like working on movie making material. So we're planning on also putting all that footage on you tube and my space and a up-coming  website. They asked me to make merchandise, I'm not big on merchandise but I get to make some goofy looking artwork.

Another thing is I was bored as anything at work and for some reason I was thinking about  James Maynard Keenan's lyrics, I was thinking of this song in particular called "The Hollow"

Run desire run,
Sexual being,
Run it like a blade,
To and through the hollow,
One conscience, one motive,
Cater to the hollow,

Screaming feed me,
Fill me up again,
Temporarily pacify this hungering,

Thats just an example, so I looked back on all of his other songs and I think I get his method of writing and some of his songs are disgusting. I was that bored that I decided to write my own lyrics using Maynards methods, everything I have written is all in puzzles, written vaguely and I added a hidden message. I'd love it if someone can tell me what this song is about because I was in a laughing fit when I wrote it and I overkilled the lyrics to I reckon. I called this song "24 Carrot Waste."

Open the gates to the darkness,
Convulsing caves to let them through,
The soldiers are leaving the trenches,
From one orepheus to another,
From me to you,

Her skin so smooth, till I open my feelings,
Come, Come, the faecal tongue of disguise,
Reek the steam filling your soul,
Ominiscity comes, the brown storm,

CHORUS:
Drowning in your matter,
Choking through a straw,
I feel intoxicated,
Drenched by your storm,

The clouds gather, wind on my cheeks,
shower my face with your chinese water,
roaring thunder alleviates the darkside,
The first appears, hatred in his face,

CHORUS 2:
Drowning in your matter,
Choking through a straw,
I feel intoxicated,
Drenched by the storm,

Drowning in your matter,
Choking through a straw,
24 Carrot waste,
Brown baby storm,

My mouth gasps open, lips impatiently pursed,
tongue recoiling, damn this wait, (2x)

Passionate anger, the taste of love,
From your mouth to mine,
We devour my soul pudding,
Together forever,

CHORUS 2: .....

SHIT!!!
CUNT!!!
ASS!!!
TOPPING!!!

We'll get what we can take,
We'll take what we can get.

That is my song, I hate the word "cunt" but as much as I hate it i thought it was appropriate for the song *giggles.*

(no subject)

I thought i was going to be poor because my rego was due, but I got my tax return which is awesome because I used some of that not for a PS3 sadly, instead I got a PSP with Crisis Core. It's crap because I didn't know you need a memory stick which is the memory card of course, so I really want to play Crisis Core but god I'm going to die at some point, then start the game over. Got to get Gaffy to hook me up with some games like Metal Gear, Metal Slug and so on for my PSP.  Also saw the "The Forbidden Kingdom" and it's ok, but better off waiting for it on DVD if your curious enough to see it.

Last night was one of  my singers in my bands engagement party, which was fun, didn't hardly know anybody as usual but didn't stop me from having a good time, just got the couple some red wine for a present, should of got them a gift voucher at JB's, because that place is like heaven, always buying CD's, DVD's there.

Oh yeah, I decided this is my clip of the week, I only just found it and it's one of my favourite aussie bands "Cog" with I guess a unofficial clip "Are You Interested?" Cool song and some of the footage may disturb some viewers *shakes head.* The part that got me is a man falling from one of the two towers from 9/11, one of the worse possible ways to die from such a height.

Yeah nothing special from me really, just killing time.
Battle of the bands Finals August 2nd, I must bring a crowd.

"Battle of the Bands"

WE MADE IT TO THE FINALS!!!

Pretty much about 5 hours of loud, distorted guitars which may now make you partly deaf (literly). I have to say our competition was mostly typical emo kids in these screamo/death metal bands, and you also got the whole Triple J sound alike bands. I was a little skepticle about the whole thing because I thought we didn't have the right crowd for once, all of these kids looked like they wanted metal.
As soon as we started and played our hard rock version of Led Zepplins "Immigrant Song." The crowd just turned into a moshpit like we were performing as a metal act, that is one of my biggest moments ever, and as soon as that happened we just head-banged like we've never head-banged....it was awesome.
Next we played a Beatles song called "Come Together" and my god even the emos know that song.
Played Josh our singers song "Who do you Think You Are," which is about his brother, the song was that catchy that everybody sang along to it.
"Hear Me Out" our song which got the whole karate moves happening in the crowd because it is also a hard, fast, mean song.
The rap/rock version of "Waltzing Matilda" which everybody tends to have a chuckle over which is the reaction I was looking for although Josh entered one of the verses too early which almost screwed the whole band up, but we recovered without anybody noticing.
Last but not least "Still Hear," lyrics were written by one of our female singers Kelly who couldn't play that night. That song was designed to have a gentle yet sad verse and chorus which is suppose to reflect the bad moments in a relationship, then the bridge is a let it rip mood which says I'm sick of your shit, fuck off ,then everybody goes crazy.
I'm hoping there will be more gigs like last night, cause moments like that don't come everyday.....unless your a rockstar.

By the way, Dark Knight is now put in my top 5 favourite movies of all time. Heath Ledger was truly amazing.

Is it Going Downhill from Here?

Well I recently got a two dollar pay-rise this week, but I asked for it a month ago. I don't want to sound greedy but at the rate petrol is going up I may not get with times, money-wise. But I'm worried about this week cause today my car just started leaking coolant and I can't find where it's leaking from. So I'm hoping to somehow survive this week, I need to get to work which is a 40 minute drive (That'll heat the car up), I bought "Dark Knight" tickets for Wednesday so I'm hoping to be able to drive there, hoping to have enough petrol money and "Battle of the Bands" this Saturday. Also our favourite times for our cars, REGO!!!. I've been saving up for a half decent car for 6 months and something always goes wrong during my saving up time. But I may quit my job soon cause all office workers are changing jobs which means as soon as they leave I have 5 jobs I must do at once, being a Storemen, Sales Manager, Warehouse Manager, Sheet Metal Worker and Insulator and I don't want to be around when that happens cause a fuckin 19 year old don't need to deal with all of those responsibilities and shit money.

On the bright side I got to see my best friend "Gaffy," I always manage to meet him at the Hyperdome and we always have nothing to do on the weekends so we tend to hang a fair bit these days. I advise everybody who is a fan for "Metal Gear" should check out the hilarious remake called "Metal Gear Awesome."

anyways, no more whining.

Battle of the Bands

OK I'm doing a battle of the bands with my band "Red Thursday," I play drums and my god am I embarrased and ashamed of that name. Anyways I'm trying to get as much people to come, from what I know we have about maybe 70 people coming to see us, so if anybody doesn't mind driving all the way to Jimboomba Hall to see us, come and cheer me on,....... I'm on the drums.
It's a 5 dollar entry fee so you wont go poor to see me unless you are. Also one of the other dudes I use to play with in the previous years "Joe" is also playing in a band called "Nevilles Hench," he is also the drummer, so pretty much me and him are having a drum-off.
As much as I hate myspace, come check out our myspace, www.myspace.com/redthursdayband. I don't think we're the greatest band ever but you may not mind us, not that anybody would be reading this message, I only have 1 friend and that person doesn't even use it's live journal. So I could be a crazy person just typing to myself,.....well it is a journal. Well if you plan on going on our myspace and listening to our music don't listen to the acoustic songs cause I think they're shit. Oh and if you wanna be extra nice just check out my opponent/friends band myspace as well, www.myspace.com/nevilleshenchmen.

Watch out for this guy.

My Week

Looks like there will be more entries.

This week at work was stocktake, I've done over 60 hours of work this week and the most encitement i got out of work was finding a snake in a old cardboard box, pretty much had my face right next to the snake it was only cardboard inbetween us. It was a baby Carpet Snake I think it was in hibernation mode. Joe "The gay Philipino" some people call him was removing everything in the box, then all of a sudden you just hear nothin but "FUCK THAT!" *with a high whiney voice.* Joe shit himself and everybody thought that he must've cut his own arm off or something, but it was a four foot baby snake. A lot of people wanted to kill it but the snake seemed half asleep cause it's eyes were really white like it's eyes didn't adapt to daylight yet, and it was  moving slowly to so we found a bag and took it to the bush pretty much.

My weekend had work involved as well, but after that me and my friend Gaffy driven over to my friends place  who is known as yaoi_obsessed4. Pretty much just talking shit, eating lots of food, watching some Dark Knight clips and playing MGS4 all night. I've decided to spend my tax return if possible on a PS3 containing Metal Gear, and finally get with times cause I'm still stuck on games like Final Fantasy 12 and I can't finish it cause theres too much frickin sratches on it, it wasn't my doing. Anyway i mite sound boring and all but that was my week. Bye-byes.

First Entry

Hmmmmmm......I've had this journal thats been sitting here for about four years so I'm finally gonna use it for once and I'm not sure if it's goin to be the last time either so here I go.

I'll just talk about a new CD I bought from JB's. The CD was Ashes Divide a band formed by Billy Howerdel the guitarist from "A Perfect Circle" who writes everything but the drums and now is taking the roll of vocals as well as guitar. I had my worries about that album but I can tell you that I'll be listening to it for awhile. It has a very Perfect Circle sound obviously cause he wrote the music for that as well but has taken different approaches to the music like adding the piano/keyboard which has some matrix moments I guess which turns the music around a little. The only criticism I can give to it is he is no James Maynard Keenan thats for sure, he lacks variety in his voice and his lyrics are pretty plain and simple, but I really recommend it if your into the alternative/industrial rock sound.

I gotta play some Metal Gear 4, I couldn't help but to watch some clips from you-tube and god it looks good, it has movie quality fight scenes, I'm not giving away who but you could probably guess who easily. The fight scenes were that good I was like WHOOOAAAA!!!!! Now I must save for a PS3 and MGS4, it's been a long await. I DID MY FIST ENTRY!
